My Eyes See

MY EYES SEE
 
What I see is what I learn,
And what I learn is what I know,
What I know is that my peers are
Starting to grow,
And as they grow their future isn’t as bright
As snow,
 
The world seems to be coming to an end,
Babies are giving birth to babies,
Teenagers no longer listen to their parents,
They think they are wise enough to become
Parents,
Corruption amongst politicians seems to be
A hobby,
Or maybe they’ve just found a new lifestyle
To copy,
 
Men and women are playing a game of
Divorce me first or I divorce you,
While their children are confused and used
As puppets in the situation,
 
My eyes see pain, suffering, torture,
Betrayal, loneliness and hatred,
But my eyes see Africans whom if
Can stand together can overcome any
Obstacle
