IN MEMORY OF A FALLEN HERO Pt 1
Many of us never take the chance to tell those we love how
much we love them and how much we appreciate them while we still have the chance. We
consume ourselves with our differences, never ending fights and not realizing
how much pain we are causing to each other. No one can sustain a relationship
for a long period of time unless they didn’t love each other in the first place. As
we grow older we learn new things about one another and depending on how we each
accept who we are as individuals and continue loving one another will determine
the success of our relationship.
The divorce rate and the number of single parents is getting
larger and larger by the day, yet not many people are able to come up with a
solution. The problem is that there can never be a lifetime solution for all
problems couples experience, but there is always a solution non the less
provided they both believe in what they have and are willing to make it work.
Most people look to religion in order to help resolve their
differences, but many can’t seem to look within themselves and find that
solution that might be needed at that time.
Many of us, as the youth, always have an elderly person in
our lives to look up to. It might be our parents, grandparents or just people
we know in our community. It’s those people that always seem to have a clue
about life, the challenges it holds and how to tackle them one step at a time.
Listen to most of their words they would tell you that the biggest problem with
the youth of today is a lack of patience and understanding; which are some of the
cornerstones of a building a strong relationship. As the youth we seem to quit every
time a challenge arises in life not realizing that such challenges are only
there to make us stronger and they don’t last forever.
No two relationships are the same; therefore they can’t be
approached in the same manner. That’s why one needs to have an open mind and
deal with every challenge differently for a similar issue may arise more often
than needed, but the cause is always different. It’s like treating a disease;
you can take different medication for a recurring illness but as long as you
don’t treat the cause of the illness you will forever carry that illness with
you no matter where you go.
The sad part about all this is that most of us always
realize it when it’s too late and the damage has already been done. Most of us
fall in love with an idea of the perfect man or woman, the perfect life, the
perfect job forgetting that the most important thing is loving the person you
are with for who they are.
Most of us realize it when it’s too late, when the person is
not there to tell their side of the story and all we can do is say to our
selves; IF ONLY…
